Gustavo Guzman
Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Meet Gustavo "Gus" A. Guzman Sanjurjo, Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). Gus' professional areas of interest include working with people who are struggling with anxiety and depression, as well as helping couples engage in healthier patterns of interaction. He received his degree from Palm Beach Atlantic University and is originally from Puerto Rico.

Gus is fluent in both English and Spanish.

When he's not in the office, Gus enjoys listening to music. He has been married for 28 years and has two beautiful daughters. When asked what he's passionate about, Gus said, "God, family, service, and my community." Gus is active within his church by way of community counseling and the missions field; and he provides music lessons to those in his community, too.

What drew Gus to his profession was the need for accessible counseling resources within his community. As a LMHC, Gus loves that he gets to be part of his clients' walk toward self-discovery.

Currently, Gus is working toward becoming trauma-certified.

Gus likes to encourage his clients "to have good will during times of conflict."

A Helping Hand Counseling Center exists to significantly improve the mental health and well-being of all members of the community through counseling, education, support and advocacy.
