Gianna Renteria
Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern

Gianna Renteria is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern. She received her Bachelor's in psychology from Florida State University and her Master's in clinical psychology from the University of Central Florida.

Originally, Gianna hails from New Jersey. She moved to Florida when she was 10 years old. Her hobbies include reading and travel. She says, "I love exploring new places."

She was drawn to her profession when she was younger, having always been interested in learning more about psychology. Gianna knew that she wanted to be involved with helping and connecting with others.

Her areas of interest include working with all age groups, focusing on helping her clients overcome trauma, anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and autism. "My therapeutic approach is mainly client-centered and integrative at times as I strive to holistically view each client and their unique experiences and strengths," says Gianna.

Something that makes Gianna unique is that she graduated high school with her associate's degree and is a first-generation college student in her family. She says, "I have always pushed myself to work hard and love learning and finding new ways that I can grow both personally and professionally." Currently, Gianna is working toward becoming a licensed mental health counselor.

A Helping Hand Counseling Center exists to significantly improve the mental health and well-being of all members of the community through counseling, education, support and advocacy.
