Alyshamyre “Alysha” Pierre, PMHNP, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She earned her degree from Walden University and specializes in integrative medication management and supportive therapy. Her clinical focus includes anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, burnout, and maternal mental health. Alysha is especially passionate about supporting neurodivergent individuals and promoting emotional wellness within Black, Brown, and Caribbean communities.
A proud first-generation Haitian-American, Alysha was raised in a Caribbean household in Florida and is fluent in both English and Haitian Creole—“especially when it’s time to comfort someone or lovingly get them together,” she adds with a smile. Her lived experience fuels her commitment to culturally grounded care and her mission to reduce stigma around mental health in immigrant and underserved populations.
Outside of her clinical work, Alysha is a devoted book lover who enjoys losing herself in romance novels and analyzing the emotional arcs of fictional characters. She shares life with her husband and their beloved fur-baby, navigating it all through faith, love, and playlists that heal.
Alysha has contributed to numerous community outreach initiatives focused on women’s health and mental wellness. She mentors emerging providers and actively participates in community-based wellness events. One of her current projects includes a creative series titled "Hey Now"—a blend of warm check-ins and clinical insight. She is also expanding The KnownRx Collective, a podcast and educational platform that centers mental health for diverse audiences.
“Growing up in a culture where emotions were often unspoken made me deeply curious about the inner lives of others,” Alysha shares. “I became a nurse practitioner to help people unpack the weight they carry—gently, holistically, and without judgment. What I love most is watching clients slowly come back home to themselves.”
Known for her unique blend of clinical expertise, cultural fluency, and soulful presence, Alysha practices an integrative approach to care—one that honors both science and spirit, medication and mindfulness. “I’m not just checking boxes; I’m holding space.”
Alysha often reminds her clients:
“You’re not too much—you’re just not in the right room.”
She believes healing doesn’t require perfection—just honesty, intention, and support.
“Mental health care doesn’t have to be sterile or intimidating. I believe in care that’s warm, culturally competent, evidence-based, and affirming. Whether you're the strong friend, a tired mom, or someone navigating a new diagnosis—you deserve to be seen, heard, and supported as your whole self.”
A Helping Hand Counseling Center exists to significantly improve the mental health and well-being of all members of the community through counseling, education, support and advocacy.
